About Tuscany’s subregions:
Chianti is roughly the region between Florence and Siena. Southern Tuscany sub region is located south of Siena. All of the other sub regions are defined by the town name and include rentals in the town itself and it's surrounding area: Lucca, San Gimignano, Cortona, Chiusi, Arezzo, and Pistoia.
There are many reasons to visit Tuscany. For those interested in fine art, this region has one of the largest selections of Renaissance art in the world. It is the birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci, Botticelli and Michelangelo. Magnificent collections of paintings, sculptures and frescoes can be found in the museums of Florence, Arezzo, Lucca, Siena and San Gimignano. The countryside of Tuscany is characterized by its beautiful rolling hills and serene views. Enjoy a walk along one of the many mountain paths or ride your bike to the nearest village. Small towns and charming villages such as Castellina in Chianti, Radda, Gaiole, Cortona and San Gimignano are excellent day trip destinations. Participate in the olive & grape harvest in the fall and learn how olive oil & the famous wines of the region are is produced (such as Chianti, Vino Nobile id Montepulciano, Brunello di Montalcino).
